The 1/2 marathon takes you out of the village of Deutschkreutz and up into the “Alte Weingebirge”. Not only are the oldest and best vineyards in Deutschkreutz located here, but the magnificent views to the west as far as the Schneeberg and to Lake Neusiedl in the east make this region something very special. You run past Deutschkreutz Castle and the outdoor pool through flat fields to the district of Girm. A final climb takes you up to the imposing Weinchateau before you tackle the last few kilometers to the finish with a wonderful view over the municipal area.
Along the route, there are a total of 9 refreshment stations for the physical well-being of the participants. Here you can taste the excellent wines from the local winegrowers. Grape juice, mineral water and still water are also available. Culinary delights and regional specialties await you in the cosy courtyards, elegant tasting rooms or on the beautiful panoramic terraces of the wineries.
The majority of the nine enjoyment stations are located in the respective wineries in the local area or on the outskirts of Deutschkreutz and Girm. Two enjoyment stops are located in the middle of the vineyards in the “Alten Weingebirge” with fantastic views, which are best enjoyed during a short break with a good glass of wine.
Along the route outside the local area, you will also find classic supply stations with still water and iso-drinks to ensure sufficient hydration.
