The Blaufränkischland Marathon offers four different race options:
Discover Blaufränkischland in a unique way! Combining movement through this enchanting landscape with wine and enjoyment, the Blaufränkischland Marathon offers the perfect opportunity to get to know and fall in love with the wine region of Mittelburgenland.
All four races feature refreshment stations along the route where wine tastings, grape juice, mineral water, and still water are served. Warm and cold dishes—typical Burgenland specialties—provide the culinary offerings. During the marathon and half marathon, additional hydration stations with water and isotonic drinks ensure runners stay well hydrated. Wine tastings, grape juice, water, and the culinary offerings at the refreshment stations are included in the race entry fee.
Timing is done using a chip integrated in the bib numbers. The routes mostly run on paved roads, with some short sections on unpaved field or meadow paths and through vineyards. Only the eighth marathon takes place entirely on paved paths.
