Declaration on accessibility

Declaration of accessibility

The Central Burgenland-Rosalia Tourist Board endeavours to make the websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act as amended to implement the European Accessibility Directive (Directive (EU) 2016/2102) on the accessibility requirements for products and services.

The guideline for accessible web content - WCAG 2.2 - was adhered to as far as possible. We are constantly striving to achieve the goal of accessibility through ongoing adjustments and optimisations.

This declaration on accessibility applies to mittelburgenland-rosalia.info and blaufraenkischland-marathon.at

Information on the conclusion of the contract and the provision of services

These websites offer non-binding information about vacation opportunities in Burgenland. This includes editorial contributions, inspiration for travel planning, information on accommodation, excursion destinations, events and current weather data. This is exclusively an information service; a contract for bookable services may be concluded via linked external providers and not directly via this website. Furthermore, users have the opportunity to take part in competitions on individual subpages. In addition, we occasionally conduct surveys that are sent exclusively to selected persons (e.g. existing contacts or previous participants). All content and offers are for voluntary use and support individual vacation planning in Burgenland.

Notes on operation and accessibility
  1. Use of AccessiWay: To improve accessibility, we use the AccessiWay tool on selected pages to offer users additional settings for barrier-free use.
  2. Responsive web design: Our website is optimized for a wide range of output devices (cell phone, tablet, desktop computer) thanks to responsive web design. The content elements (e.g. images, page layout, size) are automatically optimized for the best possible readability and adapted to the respective display size.
Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not or only partially accessible for the following reasons:

Incompatibility with accessibility regulations/disproportionate burden
  • PDF and Word documents (especially older files) that are available on the websites are not accessible. Please contact us if you require content from our PDF and Word documents. We will endeavor to provide you with the information in another form.
  • Videos used on our websites are currently not accessible. We will endeavor to make the videos available in an accessible form as soon as possible.
  • All images used on the website should be accessible for screen reader users via alternative texts. If, in exceptional cases, an image does not have an alternative text and the content is therefore only partially accessible, please let us know.
  • Texts: We always endeavor to write texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words. We also take care to avoid cumbersome sentence constructions. If a text is incomprehensible to you and therefore only partially accessible, please contact us.
  • Headline structure: On some pages, the sequence of headlines is not always logical.
  • Contrasts: On some pages, font on image or color is used, which can result in a lower contrast ratio between font and background.
  • Links: Not every link (tile or text) is immediately recognizable as a link or is clearly framed in the keyboard navigation.
  • Font: Block font is used in headings with multiple words.
  • Missing skip links: For some non-accessible content (maps or videos) there are no skip links.
  • Integration of the voucher store via iFrame: The voucher store for Burgenland vouchers is integrated via an iFrame solution from the provider Incert. This embedded area does not yet fully meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and is therefore not accessible. According to the provider, an accessibility-related update is already in preparation and will be implemented in the coming weeks. Further information can be found directly from the provider at: support.incert.at

Other notes

  • Spam protection / Recaptcha: To protect against spam and mass e-mails via our contact forms, we require a so-called "re-captcha" function. This is not barrier-free. If a form cannot be used for this reason, please send us an e-mail to office-mitte@burgenland.info

The listed incompatibilities with the accessibility regulations are constantly being corrected.
